Written by Kameron Miller
"RAGER!" is a fun story about a group of teens, all with different goals, taking the same path together. Our main character Kars, is part of a lineage of assassins who killed his parents. We will be following the story through his point of view! Expect chaos, humor, fights, love, and coming of age in a story that is best described as being a "RAGER!"
Wabi Flow: A Dreamcatcher's Ballad
" A Dreamcatcher's Ballad” is my representation of the creative experience, starring my own Original Character. I aimed to share the experience of navigating creative pressures and the formation of creative identity. We follow my character (Wabi Flow) through his own journey of becoming a musical artist, set in a world that runs on music, so powerful that it can change reality. Each artwork serves as an album cover in a concept series inspired by iconic musicians, depicting Wabi's coming-of-age story through distinct stages of his journey.
Our story starts with capturing a powerful moment of fascination and awakening that every artist experiences. Our main character, Wabi, listens to music through his headphones while holding his guitar, surrounded by towering buildings that seem to watch him in anticipation. At the center stands a gently depicted cross made of speakers and radios, reflecting this world’s deep connection between music and society. Though blind, Wabi is deeply connected to the world around him; even the flap of a butterfly's wings resonate like a guiding tune. For Wabi, the shaping of his passion stems from his connection to music he dreams of being a part of, like a calling.
We follow Wabi as he takes his first step into the world of being an artist. Drawn by dreams and desire, Wabi aims to "exist" in this creative realm, following the call to make music. He’s ready to transform from a mere consumer into an innovator in the medium he loves. The doors through which he must enter enclose him as if he is going to be consumed, leaving the haven of the previous cover, the light of bliss is shrouded by the darkness of uncertainty. As he steps into the unknown, he becomes vulnerable to those who may exploit his talents. Yet, with determination in his heart, he clutches his guitar ready to take that leap into the Unknown.
Wabi is caught in a dilemma. He faces an internal conflict between succumbing to negativity and artistic pressure or letting it all go, along with his dream. As he develops his style and identity, the glamour he once sought is dimmed by harsh realities. As he begins to solidify his presence in this realm, he can't shake the uncertainty creeping into his mind: is he honing his craft out of genuine passion, or is he merely bending to the weight of external expectations? As the hypnotic gaze of consumers and critics falls upon our main character, without guidance, he must confront his choices and determine his path forward…
While going through the creative process, our experiences can lead us to feel disconnected from our desires. Experiences such as the fear of failure, of seeking external validation, and navigating through a world that feels cruelly indifferent. It was this experience that led Wabi to introspection, asking himself, “Why?” “What is this dream worth to him?” As he gained clarity through self-reflection, a mystical wire emerges from his guitar, connecting experience with strong desire, energizing one's artistic fervor and passion. Fueled by this newfound energy, he broke free from external pressures, forging his artistic identity. Unyielding against societal stigma, Wabi reclaimed his identity, remaining true to his creative values.
Through his newfound connection with this wire, Wabi links his newfound perspective with where he came from. This alignment between his desires and experiences enables him to create a harmony that resonates deeply and holds significant influence. Wabi's dream of being an innovative force in the musical realm is becoming a reality. However, at heart, he remains a vagabond of sound, now equipped with a new perspective and valuable experiences. An artist's journey is never over, with so much more out there to experience and so much more to create. Wabi continues to play his guitar, striving to build a more "Harmonic Tomorrow." What does your “Tomorrow” look like?
